County Background

Morris

The Network supports advocates in Morris County who meet as the Morris Housing Alliance a consortium of affordable housing developers, organizations working to end homelessness and others supporting that effort like the Food Pantry and banks.

They meet regularly with elected representatives to ensure that their voice is being heard. Two projects they are working on:

  • Establishment of a Morris County Homeless Trust Fund (HTF): Developing a "white paper" that will present the case for a HTF in Morris. It will draw on the experience to-date from the other 11 NJ counties that have implemented a HTF so far. It will clearly show how funds raised can be used to meet critical Morris County needs and fill service gaps from other funding streams. It will recommend an implementation plan.

  • Drew Neighbors in Need Landlord Support Project: The project aims to provide enhanced incentives to local landlords to house our most vulnerable population.
