Join us as we return to the Statehouse for our Annual Legislative Day. Our collective voices make a difference as we meet with dozens of members of the NJ Assembly and Senate. This is our opportunity to advocate for our HouseNJ campaign for transformative housing resources and investment in our communities in the Garden State. Housing is health and policies and programs that support safe, secure and affordable homes improve health outcomes. Be there in-person so that together, we can help HouseNJ!

Legislative Day is an opportunity to:

  • Speak with your representatives about supporting public policy that will help HouseNJ. Talking points and fact sheets will be provided.
  • Have a stronger voice by connecting with others in the housing and community development sector.
  • Tour the State House and get an insider’s view of the legislative process from where it all happens.
  • Hone your advocacy skills and learn tricks of the trade for communicating with decision-makers.
  • Witness democracy in action by attending legislative hearings.

*501(c)(3) nonprofits CAN lobby! Federal laws actually exist to encourage nonprofits to engage with their elected officials within certain specified limits. Learn more at www.njnonprofits.org.

Advocates and community leaders met with members of the New Jersey Legislature to secure commitment for the HouseNJ campaign. Launched by the Network, the initiative seeks $975 million in state investments from American Rescue Plan and general revenue into critical housing programs, as well as legislative proposals that expand housing security and stability.
