Following the announcement that New Jersey Supreme Court Chief Justice Stuart Rabner will be re-nominated, Housing and Community Development Network of New Jersey President and CEO Staci Berger issued the following statement:

"We’re pleased to see the tradition of a balanced, bipartisan court continue under this agreement between Senate President Sweeney and Governor Christie. Chief Justice Rabner has served with the fairness and integrity expected of our judicial system. The New Jersey Supreme Court is widely respected for its impartial nature, and should continue to be a beacon of fairness for all New Jerseyans who seek redress through our courts. We all learn in school that our government is made up of three separate but equal branches of government. We congratulate our elected officials who have worked to ensure the court’s independence and to preserve important checks and balances in our political process that affect the lives of all New Jersey residents.”

The Housing and Community Development Network supports New Jersey’s community development sector, collaborating with more than 250 members including community development corporations and other organizations to create affordable homes, expand economic opportunities, and build strong communities.
